The Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has claimed that the emergence of embattled Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho was a result of the injustice and the deprivation that happened over time.

Adams said this while speaking on Igboho’s sudden emergence in the struggle for the Yoruba Nation.

The monarch, who spoke during an interview with BBC Yoruba, said Igboho should not be blamed, adding that he has not used a gun to kill anyone.

Adams said Igboho is only protesting in the Southwestern part of the country.

He said, “Sunday’s emergence in October was a result of the injustice and the deprivation that has happened over time. Some tribes, especially ours, believed we were no longer secure.

“On this issue of self-determination, let us ask ourselves apart from the fact that Sunday [Igboho] spoke too much, you cannot blame him, he just started, I have been on the struggle for 28 years.

“The level I was in the year 2000, I also made some mistakes and I agree; we were talking then, attacking elders too and that’s the level he is now and we must not blame him too much. When he started, he has not used a gun to kill anyone, he is just doing protest.

“Not all monarchs are against self-determination, some are just using their wisdom. I know of Oluwo, and Oba Kuta, who are against the Odua Republic.”

DAILY POST reports that Ighoho’s house was invaded by the Department of State Services, DSS, weeks ago.

Igboho is currently on the run as nobody has seen him since the attack on his residence.

Earlier this month, Yoruba nation protesters stormed the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos, where the rally was scheduled to start.

Amid heavy security at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos, venue of the protest, the Yoruba nation agitators defiled the operatives, storming the area for the mega rally as earlier planned.
