You are to blame for the high rate of poverty. Peter Obi Informs Buhari Administration

The Labour Party’s (LP) Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has stated that the country’s high poverty rate is unacceptable given the country’s human and natural resources.
According to Track News, Obi stated this on Sunday during a Presidential Town Hall meeting organized by Arise News and other partners.

Former Governor of Anambra stated that the Federal Government, not state governments, should be held accountable for the country’s high rate of poverty.

Obi believes that insecurity is the primary cause of poverty in the country and that the high poverty rate will not be reduced until the federal government addresses the nation’s security challenges.

The LP’s presidential candidate stated that the difference between poor and wealthy nations is in education and health, promising to invest in both sectors if elected in 2023.

“The poverty level is unacceptable,” he said. I plan to invest in education and health care.

“Governments at the subnational level do not cause poverty.” No, it is the federal government’s responsibility to address it. The federal government is in charge of security. The main source of poverty is insecurity, which is under the control of the federal government.

“Poverty will be reduced if you create an enabling environment for people and investors to come.” I will resurrect the Bank of Industry in Kaduna in order for meaningful development to occur.

“I want to keep the country safe and united.” I will make certain that the government in 2023 is one of national unity.

“The goal is to save the country.” Whether people support you or not, the goal is to save the country. My top priorities are health, education, and lifting people out of poverty.”

Obi Discusses Education Plan
On education, the LP flagbearer stated that while he was governor of Anambra, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) did not go on strike because he provided the necessary funds.

“ASUU did not go on strike as governor of Anambra State because we were funding the university,” he said.

“The funding of Nigerian tertiary institutions needs to be restructured.” The government should clear the backlog and devise a long-term solution. I intend to build more primary healthcare facilities, particularly in the north, and to increase funding for them.

“We will provide insurance for primary and secondary health care.” I use the health care facilities here and believe they are adequate. We will train more doctors and nurses because the current number is insufficient. Human capital development is dependent on health and education.

“Investing in these areas will reduce poverty.” We will lift people out of poverty, we will state the numbers, and we will ensure that people are lifted out of poverty. China, India, and Vietnam have all faced and overcome similar challenges in the past. We will eliminate criminal subsidies and reduce costs. That is when we will have a workable budget.”
