THE Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, said yesterday that it will not compromise the actualization of the Biafra nation for Nigerian politics.

The pro-Biafra group also told Gumi that it has nothing to do with Nigerian politics and those contesting or not, and that Mr. Peter Obi’s emergence is giving him sleepless nights.

In response to the alleged statement attributed to Sheikh Gumi, who was quoted as saying that “the agitation by IPOB has slowed down in the South Eastern Region since Peter Obi picked the Labour Party presidential ticket,”

IPOB stated that it does not speak from both sides of its mouth and does not return to its vomit, adding that it is unconcerned about who has emerged in any part of Nigeria or who is contesting what position.

According to a statement issued by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, titled “Gumi, actualization of Biafra nation cannot be compromised for Nigerian politics,” it is a pipe dream for some unscrupulous and inconsistent people in Nigerian politics to believe that the emergence of Mr. Peter Obi will affect or change the organization’s decision to pursue the actualization and freedom of Biafra.

“The attention of the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, under the command and leadership of our great leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been drawn to the unguarded statement from the controversial Islamic cleric and fundamentalist, Sheikh Gumi, alleging that IPOB agitation has slowed in the South Eastern Region since Peter Obi picked the ticket from the Labour Party for the presidential race in Nigeria,” said IPOB in a statement.

“This purported statement attributed to this Northern terrorists spokesman demonstrates his level of ignorance and lack of knowledge about the IPOB movement and its activities.” Sheikh Gumi must realize that IPOB is not on the same page as him and his terrorist cohorts who are wreaking havoc in Northern Nigeria and beyond.

“We understand that some unscrupulous elements in Nigeria believe that Peter Obi, who is running for Nigerian President, will influence or change our decision to pursue the freedom of our dear Nation Biafra.” The government and its allies are daydreaming. IPOB will not give up or compromise in its fight to free Biafra from the dungeon that the British have imprisoned us in as a country.

“Gumi’s hatred for Biafra restoration clouded his reasoning and prevented him from seeing beyond his nose.” Please inform him that IPOB has engaged in world-class freedom fighting, which has brought us this far. We have reached the most difficult point in this struggle, and there is no doubt that Biafra’s independence is assured.

“Biafra must be restored.” After studying the history of Biafran creativity and ingenuity, the British colonial masters decided to frustrate our civilization by forming an unholy marriage with Nigeria. “The most important political process in which IPOB is interested and would overwhelmingly participate is an International Community Supervised Referendum on Biafrans’ decision to remain or leave Nigeria.”
