Young Professionals To Host MSME Summit 2020

TRACKING____Young Professionals from the Niger Delta Region are planning to champion a new narrative towards stimulating growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) as they intend to host what is called the biggest MSME Summit and Exhibition in the Niger Delta region in March 2020.
The reason behind the summit was the poor state of socio-economic activities, lack of employment and rise of social vices in the oil rich Niger Delta region.
While addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt, the chairman of Nigerian Young Professionals Forum (NYPF) and former Bayelsa State Governorship candidate, Moses Siloko Siasia, said a team of young people with futuristic thinking have been put together to plan for the Niger Delta MSME Summit/Exhibition 2020, with the Theme, ‘Stimulating MSME Growth Beyond Oil.’
“The summit will host over 4000 small business owners across the nine states of the Niger Delta region and will give real-time opportunities in various federal government agencies and international organisations.”
Siasia noted that the only hope for the region right now is to encourage those doing meaningful businesses, and that society has neglected productivity for too long, stating that criminals and miscreants are now role models, that no sane society anywhere in the world neglects hard work and innovation.
He further explained his pain that some leaders in the region have not done the needful towards galvanising the energy and idealism of the teeming young population towards more productive and useful ventures, rather, they pay attention to what today’s world has left behind.
Siasia said that the summit would be attended by young business owners between the ages of 18 – 45 and it would feature a two-day summit experience including product exhibitions, main-stage keynotes, panels, interactive master sessions, style breakouts, business to business meetings, mentoring sessions, networking opportunities and a line-up of successful entrepreneurs, innovators, strategists and business leaders from top global brands. He further explained that the business linkage summit would host 100 exhibition stands for business owners to showcase and sell their various products during the summit and would give a N2million grant to the best and most innovative business, while availing others with a venture capitalised fund.
