Your Trip to Ortom Was a Waste of Time, G-5, Allies Can’t Be Divided – Bode
Olabode George, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy National Chairman, has stated that the G-5 governors and their allies will not be divided.
George reiterated that the G-5 governors and their allies are committed to upholding equity, fairness, and justice until the bitter end.
According to Track News, the elder statesman was reacting to a recent meeting between Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, the Director-General of the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign, and Governor Samuel Ortom, a G-5 member.
Tambuwal told reporters on Sunday that his trip to Benue State to meet with Ortom was to consult with his colleagues on how to move forward with the PDP’s crisis.
Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), and Okezie Ikpeazu are also members of the G-5 (Abia).
In response, George stated that Tambuwal’s visit to Ortom was futile, emphasizing that “divide and rule cannot work.” Governor Ortom is not going to agree. He is a reasonable individual.”
“Our position is unbreakable.” Allow the governor of Sokoto to go wherever he wants. “We will support justice,” he added.
Atiku is a phony.
In an interview with The Nation, he questioned how the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who has failed to restructure his party, could promise restructuring to the country.
While insisting that the PDP presidential candidate is untrustworthy, the elder statesman stated that he will not vote for him and will not stop speaking out until the party’s injustices are addressed.
“The campaign’s Director-General is from Sokoto, Northwest,” he said. Northcentral is home to the national chairman. The presidential candidate is from the northeastern state of Adamawa.
“The acting chairman of the Board of Trade is from the Southeast.” Southsouth is the vice presidential candidate. There is nothing available for the Southwest. And you’re deceiving us. Which rank do they wish to surpass? He is unable to restructure his party. He promises Nigeria restructuring. He is demeaning Yoruba. We are committed to the truth. I’m not going to vote for him, and I’m not going to stop talking.”
Forces Opposing the Southwest
The PDP stalwart accused some forces within the main opposition party of attempting to deny Yoruba a sense of belonging, pointing out that the Southwest has not had a national chairman in the PDP since 1998.
“The first chairman, Chief Solomon Lar, came from Northcentral,” he explained. Chief Barnabas Gemade hails from Benue in Northcentral Nigeria. Chief Audu Ogbeh is from Benue in Northcentral Nigeria. Dr. Ahmadu Ali is from the Northcentral region of Nigeria. Baraje is from the Northcentral region. Ayu is from Benue in northern Nigeria.
“Southwest has never served as chairman.” They have shown contempt, disrespect, and dishonour to Southwest. We are not going to accept it. The Southwest is cut off from the party’s decision-making organs. It’s a pity. We cannot live as slaves.”
