Zamfara community in fear over alleged planned attack

Residents of Kasuwar Daji district in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State have expressed worry over the security situation in the axis following the abduction of their district Head, Ibrahim S/Fada Kasuwar Daji.
Some of the residents claimed gunmen have been sighted in the area, moving around with dangerous weapons, worrying that they now live in fear of being attacked by the terrorists who operate in the area.
A villager in Kasuwar Daji district, Mallam Mansur Abubakar who spoke with DAILY POST in Gusau, said the bandits reportedly pencilled some prominent personalities who will be kidnapped.
“My name was among their target and I was not aware of that until my son residing in Gusau told me that I was one of their targets. He then rented a complete house for me in Gusau where I packed in with my three wives and children”, he added.
According to him, the kidnappers who abducted the District Head of Kasuwar Daji recently are currently demanding the sum of N100 million Naira as ransom”
“The district market that is one of the most populous markets in the state is no longer functioning as it used to be. We at the receiving end are appealing to the state government and security agencies to save our souls”
Recall that the district head was picked up by his abductors at around 3:00am on Thursday, last week, inside his palace at the centre of the town and was moved to an unknown destination.
It was also gathered that the residents of the area were awoken at 3:30 am the same day by multiple sounds of gunshots, indicating that there was danger in the area before it was revealed that the District Head had been abducted by the gunmen
