Zamfara IPAC Counsels INEC On Upcoming Elections
Zamfara State chapter of the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be focused to ensure free, fair and credible elections come 2019.
IPAC’s newly elected chairman, Alhaji Sani Yusuf, who gave the charge in his acceptance speech, said political parties are ready to support INEC to carry out its duties.
He promised to work hand in hand with all political parties in the state and ensure the protection of their interest in the election process.
According to him, IPAC is committed to supporting other stakeholders in promoting democratic process in the country.
He urged the chairmen of the political parties in the state to join hands with the IPAC leadership to entrench democratic culture amongst the people.
Yusuf, however, pledged to extend all necessary support and cooperation to INEC for the conduct of free and fair general election.
In his speech, IPAC chairman, electoral committee, Chief Sam Eke, said the new leadership has one-year mandate to pilot the affairs of committee in the state.
He urged the new leadership to be firm in handling the affairs of the committee, especially with the general elections coming up next year.
Others elected were deputy chairman, Engr AB Muazu; secretary, Alhaji Musa Mai-mai of the AD; Babangida Anka of the APC, treasurer and Hajia Hadiza Unman of the Zenith Labour Party, as organising secretary.Party, as organising secretary.
