Zuma Corruption Trial: South African Court Rejects Effort to Delay Hearing

A South African court has dismissed former President Jacob Zuma’s attempt to remove the prosecutor from his upcoming corruption trial.
Zuma’s lawyers attempted to overturn a previous judgment that denied his request for the prosecutor to drop his corruption prosecution. Judge Piet Koen of the Pietermaritzburg High Court dismissed the motion on the grounds that Zuma’s attempt to remove the prosecutor “lacks reasonable prospects of success.”
In an interview with News Central, Benedict Phiri, a South African legal analyst, hailed the court’s decision as ‘thorough and good.”
