Dan Nwanyanwu, the National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, has offered a staunch defense of Governor Hope Uzodimma regarding his close relationship with the federal government.
Addressing critics who question the governor’s frequent presence in Abuja, the veteran politician argued that such ties are necessary for state development. He suggested that maintaining a strong rapport with the presidency is a strategic move intended to attract vital federal projects and various institutional approvals.
According to a video posted on the Official YouTube channel of SYMFONI, while explaining the importance of leveraging federal influence for the benefit of the people, Nwanyanwu remarked, “if I have to shine the President’s shoe to get results for my state, I will shine it every day.
He noted that the primary responsibility of any governor is to ensure their citizens receive the best possible resources from the national government at all times.
The party chairman noted that many people do not understand the complexities involved in securing high level infrastructure projects in a competitive political environment.
He argued that instead of criticizing the governor for his loyalty to the president, citizens should focus on the tangible improvements seen across the state. Nwanyanwu insisted that the end justifies the means when it comes to bringing dividends of democracy to the various local government areas.
The veteran politician observed that previous administrations failed to provide the necessary landing aids and airport upgrades that are now visible under the current leadership.
He told reporters that these achievements were made possible because the governor understands how to navigate the corridors of power effectively. Nwanyanwu stated that a governor who isolates himself from the center risks leaving his state in a perpetual condition of neglect and total financial stagnation.
Nwanyanwu concluded by urging the public to appreciate the energy and capacity being displayed by the administration in driving the new hope agenda forward.
He mentioned that the focus should remain on structural development, empowerment, and the renovation of schools and hospitals.
By openly declaring his willingness to go to any length for progress, Nwanyanwu has set a very provocative tone for the ongoing political discourse regarding state and federal relations.
