Onitsha in Shock as Two Brothers arrested Over Alleged K!dnap and Murder of Cameroonian Traders

A heartbreaking incident has thrown Onitsha into mourning as two brothers, Nonso Augustine Akpeh (37) and Kingsley Akpeh (44), have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and killing of three Cameroonian traders who came to the city for Christmas business.

According to eyewitness reports, the traders had travelled from Cameroon to Onitsha to buy goods for resale back home. Instead, they fell into the hands of cr!minals.

Family sources revealed that ₦2.9 million ransom was paid, yet the v!ctims were still killed. The bodies of two of the traders were later recovered at the Omambala River, while one is still unaccounted for, raising fears that he may not have survived.

Residents are calling for justice, describing the act as wicked, inhuman, and a stain on the image of the commercial city.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing.
