The Special Adviser to the Bayelsa State Government on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Jonathan R. Obuebite, has praised the family, aides, and kinsmen of the late Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, for their decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obuebite specifically commended the elder brother of the late deputy governor, Christopher Ewhrudjakpo, alongside the people of Ofoni Community, for publicly declaring support for Governor Douye Diri.

According to Obuebite, the political move demonstrates loyalty to leadership and a commitment to preserving the legacy of the late Ewhrudjakpo, whom he described as a dedicated public servant who served the state with patriotism and unwavering commitment.

He stated that the decision by the Ewhrudjakpo family and their associates goes beyond political realignment, noting that it reflects a deliberate effort to protect the goodwill and political ideals the late deputy governor built during his time in office.

Obuebite also highlighted the strong working relationship between Ewhrudjakpo and Governor Diri during their time in government, describing it as a partnership founded on trust, cooperation, and shared commitment to the development of Bayelsa State.

He said the alignment of the Ewhrudjakpo family and the Ofoni community with Governor Diri represents a sign of political maturity and unity, adding that it will help strengthen stability and continuity in the state’s governance.

The adviser urged the community and supporters of the late deputy governor to remain focused and not allow political distractions to derail their commitment to the governor’s vision for the state.

Obuebite concluded by thanking the people of Ofoni Community and the Ewhrudjakpo family for what he described as a principled decision that reflects loyalty, unity, and a determination to sustain the legacy of their late kinsman.

He emphasised that the enduring relationship between Governor Diri and the late Ewhrudjakpo stands as an example of political cooperation built on mutual respect and dedication to public service, adding that the legacy is one that deserves to be preserved.
