A prosecution witness has told the FCT High Court that $6.23 million was allegedly moved from the Central Bank of Nigeria under the guise of funding foreign observers for the 2023 elections in the ongoing trial of former CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

Testifying before Justice Hamza Muazu, the witness said investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission uncovered documents linked to the transaction and identified individuals involved.

The witness further alleged that signatures of former President Muhammadu Buhari and ex-SGF Boss Mustapha were forged to authorise the release of the funds, a claim backed by forensic analysis.

The court adjourned the case to April 28, 2026, for continuation of trial as proceedings continue.
