Fresh cracks may be widening within the ruling APC as Hope Uzodimma has reportedly been removed as Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), barely hours after publicly speaking on behalf of APC governors during the submission of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential nomination and expression of interest forms in Abuja.

The reported decision was allegedly taken during an extraordinary late-night meeting attended by about 20 APC governors at the Ogun State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. Governors from Ogun, Bayelsa and Enugu states were among those said to have participated in the closed-door deliberations that led to the development.

Uzodimma’s sudden removal is already fueling intense speculation over escalating internal power realignments within the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

The development also comes amid controversy surrounding his reported senatorial ambition and the recent Senate Standing Order drama, which triggered sharp divisions within the Red Chamber over eligibility for future leadership positions.
