Former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has rejected the results of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries held on Monday, alleging widespread disenfranchisement and electoral irregularities.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Amaechi described the outcome as “concocted,” insisting he would only accept results produced through a free, fair, and transparent process.

“I unequivocally reject the concocted results being announced,” Amaechi said, adding that the conditions for a credible primary election were not met.

He alleged that nearly 80 percent of party members were prevented from voting during the exercise, questioning the credibility of the process.

“There’s no way that about eighty percent of members of the party were not allowed to vote, and you expect me to accept such results. Then what makes us different from the others?” he said.

Amaechi’s rejection of the results raises fresh concerns over internal democracy and transparency within the ADC ahead of the next phase of the party’s presidential race.
