The Director General of the Bayelsa State Centre for Youth Development, Comrade Robert Igali, has congratulated Governor Douye Diri on the occasion of his birthday, commending his leadership and describing his administration as one that has transformed promises into tangible development across Bayelsa State.

In a goodwill message marking the governor’s birthday, Igali praised Diri’s commitment to infrastructure development, youth empowerment, healthcare, education, and social welfare, noting that his stewardship has continued to redefine governance and inspire confidence among Bayelsans.

According to him, Governor Diri’s achievements are evident in several landmark projects across the state, including the ongoing Nembe-Brass Road project, the completion of the Angiama/Oporoma Bridge across the River Nun, the transformation of the Igbogene axis, the construction of the ultra-modern transport terminal, the New Yenagoa City project, and the development of a modern state secretariat complex.

He described the commissioning of the state-owned Independent Power Plant at Elebele as one of the administration’s most significant accomplishments, noting that the 60-megawatt project represents a practical solution to the longstanding challenge of inadequate electricity supply in the state.

Igali also applauded the governor’s efforts in healthcare and education, citing improvements in primary healthcare services and sustained investments in technical and vocational education aimed at equipping young people with relevant skills for economic growth and self-reliance.

The youth development advocate further commended the administration’s social intervention programmes, particularly the payment of over ₦20 billion in pension and gratuity arrears, which he said restored hope and dignity to retirees who had waited years to receive their entitlements.

He noted that farmers, women, entrepreneurs, and young people across the state have continued to benefit from empowerment programmes, business support initiatives, and agricultural interventions designed to stimulate grassroots economic development.

As Director General of the Bayelsa State Centre for Youth Development, Igali highlighted Governor Diri’s commitment to youth inclusion and leadership development, stating that the administration has consistently created opportunities for young people through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship programmes, and active participation in governance.

He described the governor as a leader who has remained focused on stability, transparency, and sustainable development despite economic and governance challenges.

While wishing Governor Diri a happy birthday, Igali prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health, wisdom, and strength upon the governor as he continues to steer the affairs of Bayelsa State.

He expressed confidence that the governor’s vision for a prosperous, united, and progressive Bayelsa would continue to yield positive results for the benefit of present and future generations.
