AMASSOMA, BAYELSA STATE — Hon. Richard Erepamo Akinaka, PDP senatorial candidate for Bayelsa Central, has awarded scholarships to three students from Amassoma during the 11th memorial anniversary of former Bayelsa State Governor, Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha, and the birthday celebration of the Acting Amananaowei of Amassoma, Chief Godwill Akedesuo.
The beneficiaries are Denbofa Ebiaboere Rachel, Profit Ininitimi Mackson, and Nathan Martins.
The scholarship gesture was presented as a tribute to Alamieyeseigha’s legacy and a commitment to promoting education and youth development.
A notable moment at the event occurred when the mother of one of the beneficiaries arrived wearing an NDC shirt to receive the cash award, despite Akinaka’s affiliation with the PDP.
The gesture highlighted a message of inclusiveness, demonstrating that educational support should transcend political differences.
As preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum, Akinaka’s supporters say his people-centred agenda prioritises development, unity, and representation for all constituents of Bayelsa Central, regardless of political affiliation.
