Morka says Wike and APC governors share common goal of securing Tinubu’s re-election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports of a disagreement between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and APC governors, insisting that their common political objective is the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, reportedly said there was no serious division between Wike and the governors, stressing that political differences should not be mistaken for a breakdown in relations.
According to Morka, the various political actors share an interest in ensuring Tinubu secures another term in office during the 2027 presidential election.
His comments come amid public discussions about Wike’s political relationship with the APC-led Federal Government and governors elected on the party’s platform.
Wike, a former governor of Rivers State and a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was appointed FCT minister by President Tinubu after the 2023 general election. His role in the administration has continued to attract political attention because of his party affiliation.
The APC spokesman’s position appears aimed at downplaying speculation about possible divisions within the political camp supporting the President ahead of the next general election.
As political activities gradually intensify ahead of 2027, the relationship between party leaders, governors and influential figures outside the APC will remain a subject of public interest.
