Federal High Court directs APC to submit former Governor Rochas Okorocha’s name to INEC for the 2027 Imo West senatorial election.
The Federal High Court in Abuja has reportedly ordered Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, to stop parading himself as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Imo West Senatorial District in the January 16, 2027 election.
Justice Obiora Egwuatu issued the order on Thursday after ruling that Uzodinma did not win the APC senatorial primary conducted on May 18, 2026, which was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In his judgment, Justice Egwuatu held that the evidence presented before the court showed that former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, secured the majority of votes cast during the primary.
The court consequently directed the APC to submit Okorocha’s name to INEC as its candidate for the Imo West Senatorial District election in 2027.
The ruling marks a significant development in the APC’s nomination process for the forthcoming senatorial election in Imo State.
