Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to national unity as the country looks ahead to the 2027 general elections. He urged citizens to embrace sacrifice and uphold democratic values, describing the period as crucial to Nigeria’s stability and future development.
In a public address, Yahaya stressed that national cohesion remains essential for progress. He said Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity and encouraged people across different regions, ethnic groups, and political affiliations to work together in pursuit of peace and sustainable growth.
The governor acknowledged the economic and social challenges currently facing the country. He noted that while many Nigerians are experiencing hardship, overcoming these difficulties will require patience, resilience, and a shared sense of responsibility among citizens.
According to him, meaningful progress cannot be achieved without a willingness to make sacrifices for the greater good. He emphasized that short-term struggles should not overshadow the long-term vision of a stable and prosperous nation.
Yahaya also highlighted the importance of protecting democratic institutions as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the elections.
