Fresh allegations have emerged against former Zamfara State Governor and current Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari, claiming he is distributing billions of naira to top political figures as part of a calculated effort to gain influence and position himself for a potential vice presidential slot.

The claims, attributed to unnamed associates, allege that Yari has been making massive monthly payments to powerful individuals within Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and those close to President Bola Tinubu. According to the sources, these payments are aimed at securing loyalty, access, and political backing in case there is a change in the current vice presidential arrangement.

Among the most striking allegations is that Yari pays the APC National Chairman and First Lady Remi Tinubu billions of naira monthly, alongside providing large sums in foreign currency to presidential aides who allegedly facilitate his direct access to the president. These claims have not been independently verified, and none of the individuals mentioned have publicly responded.

Sources further allege that Yari strategically targets close associates and family members within the president’s inner circle, offering them substantial financial incentives. At a recent high-profile birthday event for businessman Gilbert Chagoury, Yari is said to have distributed millions of dollars, although there is no official confirmation of such a transaction.

The senator is also linked to the creation of a political platform known as the Renewed Hope Network (TRHN), reportedly designed to support President Tinubu’s agenda. According to the allegations, Yari provided billions of naira to fund the group through political allies, though the structure and financial transparency of the organization remain unclear.

A particularly serious aspect of the claims is that Yari allegedly keeps detailed records of all financial transactions made to political figures. Sources claim these records could be used as leverage or blackmail if political alliances shift. This allegation remains unproven and has not been addressed by Yari.

There are also references to past financial investigations involving the former governor. According to the sources, Yari was previously questioned by security agencies over large sums of money and allegedly mentioned names of prominent individuals during those interactions. However, no official documents or confirmations have been made public to substantiate this claim.

Further allegations suggest that Yari’s wealth may be tied to illegal gold mining activities in Zamfara State, in addition to receiving large consultancy payments from the federal government. These claims remain speculative and have not been confirmed by any regulatory authority.

As of the time of reporting, Abdulaziz Yari has not issued any statement addressing these accusations. Likewise, those named in the allegations have remained silent.

The claims remain unverified, and no formal charges or official findings have been announced. Observers note that independent investigation and credible evidence would be required to establish the accuracy of the allegations.
