The Corpers’ Journey Advocacy Network (CJAN) has congratulated its partners at the Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network (CYPAN) Nigeria on the appointment of Ambassador Victor Adetolaju (MITPN) as Director of Strategic Partnerships and Government Engagement, describing the development as a positive step for youth-driven peacebuilding and institutional collaboration in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Sunday, CJAN noted that the appointment reflects a growing recognition of credible youth leaders who have consistently demonstrated commitment to advocacy, social development, and structured engagement with institutions.
Ambassador Adetolaju, who is also the Founder of the Association for Students’ Social Welfare, has built a strong portfolio around youth empowerment, student welfare advocacy, peace initiatives, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
His work spans community engagement, policy-facing dialogue, and youth mobilisation, positioning him as a bridge between young people, civil society, and government institutions.
Reacting to the appointment, Founder and Managing Director of CJAN, Ajayi Taiwo, described it as well-deserved and timely.
“Ambassador Victor Adetolaju’s appointment is a reflection of years of consistent service, integrity, and impact within the youth and advocacy space.
At CJAN, we have partnered with him and observed his passion for building sustainable platforms that amplify youth voices and strengthen institutional engagement.
We are confident that his new role at CYPAN Nigeria will unlock strategic partnerships that translate advocacy into tangible outcomes,” Taiwo said.
CJAN further commended the leadership of CYPAN Nigeria, under the Country Representative, Peter Buraimoh, for prioritising strategic engagement and positioning the organisation for broader national and Commonwealth-level impact.
The advocacy network reaffirmed its commitment to continued collaboration with CYPAN Nigeria and other partners in advancing peacebuilding, youth inclusion, and policy-driven development initiatives across the country.
As youth-led organisations increasingly play critical roles in governance and development conversations, CJAN noted that appointments such as this underscore the importance of investing in experienced youth leaders capable of delivering measurable community impact.
