Hon. Michael Magbisa, a serving commissioner in Bayelsa State, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), ending his membership in Sagbama Ward 10.
In a statement, Magbisa said his decision followed deep reflection and was guided by “conscience and clarity of thought.” He described the move as difficult, noting that the party was more than just an affiliation but a structure he helped to build.
“This decision weighs heavily on me,” he said, adding that there comes a time when one must step back and make difficult choices.
Despite his exit, Magbisa maintained a conciliatory tone, stating that he harbors no ill will toward the APC. He expressed hope that the party would continue to find unity, strength, and direction in the future.
The commissioner did not disclose his next political move, and there has been no official reaction from the APC at the time of reporting.
His resignation adds to ongoing political shifts within Bayelsa State and may influence future alignments in the state’s political landscape.
