The All Progressives Congress (All Progressives Congress) has reportedly chosen Princess Damilola Sonayon-James as its deputy governorship candidate for Lagos State, according to Western Post.
She is expected to run alongside Obafemi Hamzat, who emerged as the party’s governorship candidate after winning the APC primary in Lagos on May 21 with 657,917 votes.
Sonayon-James is said to be the Assistant State Woman Leader of the Lagos APC and a former Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Social Services in Badagry West LCDA. She is also described as a grassroots politician and ESG consultant.
The report says she hails from the Kweme royal family in Badagry West, a factor seen as strengthening APC’s outreach in that part of Lagos State.
An official announcement from the party is still being awaited.
