The Association for Students Social Welfare (ASSW) and the Students Chamber of Commerce have celebrated the achievements of Octovile Development Company Limited following the international recognition earned by winners of the Youth Enterprise Challenge (YSEC).

The celebration took place during a luncheon hosted by Octovile Development Company Limited, where youth development stakeholders, enterprise leaders, and invited guests gathered to honour outstanding participants from the 2024/2025 cohort of the programme.

According to the organisers, two participants from the cohort emerged among the overall winners in a highly competitive global selection process, further projecting the innovation and entrepreneurial potential of Nigerian youths on the international stage.

The winners were also invited to the United Kingdom as part of activities recognising their achievements in youth enterprise and leadership development.

Founder of ASSW and Chairman of the Students Chamber of Commerce, Victor Adetolaju, commended King’s Trust International and the British Council for supporting initiatives aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs across Africa.

He also congratulated the leadership of Octovile Development Company Limited, particularly Nelson Okwona, for what he described as the rapid growth and impact of the organisation within a short period.

“The achievements recorded within such a short time speak strongly about the capacity, excellence, and vision behind the Octovile Development Company Limited brand,” Adetolaju said.

“What is being built is a sustainable platform that is empowering Nigerian youths, creating opportunities, and positioning young people for global relevance,” he added.

The ASSW and the Students Chamber of Commerce stated that the recognition should serve as motivation for students, innovators, and young entrepreneurs across Nigeria and Africa.

According to the organisations, the success of the initiative demonstrates that Nigerian youths can compete globally when given access to opportunities, mentorship, and strategic support.

They further congratulated the winners of the Youth Enterprise Challenge, the Octovile Development Company Limited team, and partner organisations involved in the initiative, including the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.
