The traditional ruler of Sambo Ama in Twon Brass Kingdom, Bayelsa State, HRH Samuel Sambo, has felicitated Sir (Chief) Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion on his 92nd birthday anniversary.

The Bayelsa monarch’s goodwill message was contained in a birthday message issued on Thursday and made available to newsmen.

HRH Sambo in the message described the Esama of Benin Kingdom as “a trailblazer, business tycoon, prominent philanthropist, and an enviable first class Chief in Nigeria.”

He said Chief Igbinedion has served as an inspiration and role model to a generation of Nigerians through his contributions to public service, business, philanthropy and traditional leadership.

“On the auspicious event of your 92nd birthday it is only right to say you have been an aspiration and great role model to a generation of Nigerians based on the purposeful life you led,” he said.

The monarch also commended the Esama for his impact on education in Edo State and across Nigeria.

“As a lover of education myself, your footprint in reforming education in your native Edo State and in Nigeria at large is a great example and marker to your love for knowledge.

“Not too many leaders succeeded in nurturing their children to be great and virtuous. You are one of those rare fathers who birthed, trained and guided your children to become amazing leaders too,” the monarch stated.

Sambo therefore prayed for more years of good health, happiness and fulfilment for the Esama as he marks the new age.

Chief Igbinedion is the founder of Igbinedion University, Okada, the first privately-owned university licensed to an indigenous Nigerian.
