Dr. Felix Boye Dimaro has officially submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest for the Ekeremor Constituency II seat in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections.
In an official statement released following the submission, Dimaro said he remains committed to the race despite alleged intimidation by a major opponent during the party’s preliminary screening and harmonization exercise.
The aspirant also referred to rumors surrounding the possible allocation of “automatic tickets” to certain incumbents, stressing that such reports would not weaken his determination or political ambition.
According to Dimaro, his movement is built on courage, purpose, discipline, integrity, and a strong commitment to public service. He said the campaign continues to enjoy widespread grassroots support across the constituency.
He added that the successful submission of the nomination documents marked an important milestone in the journey toward securing the party’s ticket for the 2027 Bayelsa State House of Assembly election.
The submission exercise, he noted, was attended by supporters, party faithful, friends, and associates who accompanied him in solidarity.
Dimaro used the occasion to call on party leaders and major stakeholders to guarantee fairness and transparency throughout the primary election process.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining a level playing field for all aspirants seeking the party’s nomination, warning that the integrity of the process must not be compromised.
“As we all vie for the party’s ticket, the integrity of the process must be our highest priority,” the statement read.
The aspirant also raised concerns about the growing strength of opposition parties within Bayelsa State and across the country, saying the ruling party must avoid complacency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the party’s chances of electoral success will depend largely on its ability to present credible and electable candidates capable of winning the confidence of voters.
Dimaro called for strict adherence to due process during the primaries, insisting that all party guidelines and procedures should be applied fairly and without bias.
He further advocated for fair direct primaries to ensure that party members are allowed to freely decide who emerges as the party’s candidate for the constituency.
The aspirant stressed that candidate viability should remain a major consideration during the selection process, arguing that only candidates with strong grassroots appeal and electoral strength should be entrusted with the party’s mandate.
Dimaro also expressed appreciation to his supporters and urged them to remain steadfast as the political process continues.
He encouraged members of his movement and party loyalists to continue praying and maintaining faith throughout the campaign period.
“Our journey toward purposeful leadership continues,” he stated.
Political observers say debates surrounding direct primaries, automatic tickets, and internal party democracy are expected to intensify as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum across Bayelsa State and other parts of the country.
The submission of nomination forms by aspirants marks the beginning of what is expected to be a competitive contest for legislative seats and other elective positions ahead of the next general election cycle.
