The Enugu State Government has announced plans to construct a 660-megawatt coal-fired power plant as part of efforts to expand electricity supply and support economic growth in the state. The project is expected to begin with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for July.
The development forms part of Governor Peter Mbah’s broader economic agenda aimed at improving infrastructure, boosting industrial activities, and attracting investment into Enugu State. Officials said the power project is intended to strengthen electricity generation capacity and provide more reliable energy for businesses and residents.
