A pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), identified as Tayo Sobowale of the Watchtower parish in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, has been accused of sexual abuse by several female church members.

The allegations became public after a young woman, identified as Tobi, confronted the pastor during a church program, accusing him of assault and coercion. She claimed he used his position and religious influence to pressure her into sexual acts and that her earlier attempts to report the issue internally were unsuccessful.

Following her accusation, other women reportedly came forward with similar claims, with unverified reports suggesting the number of alleged victims could be as high as 18. The accusations include coercion, abuse of authority, and repeated misconduct within the youth-focused church.

The pastor has denied most of the claims but reportedly admitted to one instance, describing others as consensual. The accusers, however, insist the encounters were not consensual.

The case has sparked widespread reaction online, with calls for a full investigation. As of now, there has been no official statement from RCCG leadership or confirmation of formal charges by authorities.
