The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, on Saturday celebrated the academic achievement of his wife, Dr. Jennifer Timinipre Turnah, with the presentation of a brand new car gift to his father, Elder Olobha Turnah, in a remarkable display of gratitude, family values, and celebration of excellence.

The grand reception, which was held at the family’s country home, The G House in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, also coincided with the couple’s wedding anniversary on May 9, making the occasion a double celebration of love, achievement, and legacy.

The event followed the successful conferment of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree in Human Resource Management on Dr. Jennifer Turnah by Ignatius Ajuru University of Education during the institution’s convocation ceremony held earlier in Port Harcourt.

In his remarks, Hon. Turnah expressed profound gratitude to God for the successful academic journey of his wife, describing her as a dedicated, resilient, disciplined, and result-oriented woman whose commitment to excellence remains inspiring.

He commended Dr. Jennifer Turnah for her determination and sacrifices throughout the rigorous academic process, noting that her achievement was not only a personal victory but also a source of pride and inspiration to the entire family and society at large.

The PDP Chairman further appreciated family members, friends, political associates, well-wishers, and supporters who honoured the invitation and joined the family in celebrating the memorable occasion.

As part of the high point of the celebration, Hon. Turnah presented a brand new vehicle to his father, Elder Olobha Turnah, on behalf of the entire Turnah family, describing the gesture as an expression of appreciation to God and honour to the family patriarch for his sacrifices, guidance, prayers, and unwavering support over the years.

Speaking during the reception, Dr. Mrs. Jennifer Timinipre Turnah, who holds double Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) qualifications alongside B.Sc., M.Sc., CIPM, and Ph.D credentials, expressed heartfelt appreciation to her husband for his steadfast love, encouragement, and support throughout her academic pursuit.

She also thanked her family, friends, lecturers, particularly Prof. Ambily Etekpe and associates whose encouragement and contributions helped sustain her through the journey to attaining the prestigious doctorate degree.

Reflecting on her marital experience, Dr. Jennifer Turnah advised young people and intending couples to carefully choose life partners who are supportive, understanding, and willing to encourage growth and success in every area of life, especially career and personal development.

The colourful and well-attended ceremony attracted family members, political stakeholders, associates, friends, community leaders, and dignitaries from different walks of life, who gathered to celebrate what many described as a testimony of faith, hard work, love, and the reward of perseverance.
