LThomas Ereyitomi, the member representing Warri North/Warri South/Warri South West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has been accused of holding membership in two political parties amid preparations for the 2027 elections.
Ereyitomi, who is seeking a third-term return to the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is alleged to have registered as a member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on April 29, 2026.
The allegation emerged after a purported NDC membership card bearing his photograph and personal details surfaced online and within political circles in Delta State.
According to sources familiar with developments in the constituency, the card indicates that Ereyitomi became a registered member of the NDC on the stated date.

The controversy comes at a time when the federal lawmaker has intensified political consultations ahead of the APC primary election.
Last week, Ereyitomi reportedly visited Warri North Local Government Area to meet party stakeholders and seek support for his re-election ambition under the APC platform.
However, sources within the Warri Federal Constituency claimed that the lawmaker has recently been linked to political activities associated with the NDC.
Some political stakeholders who spoke on condition of anonymity alleged that uncertainty surrounding the APC ticket may have contributed to the reported development.
One political figure within the constituency claimed that documents currently circulating among party members suggest that Ereyitomi may have formally aligned with the NDC while still pursuing his political ambition within the APC.
According to the source, the alleged membership card also contains a QR code said to be linked to the NDC membership register.
The source further alleged that some political observers in Warri have associated the lawmaker with support for certain NDC-related mobilisation efforts and political gatherings within the constituency.
“We can confirm that documents being circulated indicate that Ereyitomi allegedly registered with the NDC on April 29, 2026. The membership card reportedly contains details linked to the party’s records,” the source said.
The development has reportedly generated concern among APC members across Warri South, Warri North and Warri South-West local government areas.
Some party stakeholders argued that if the allegation is verified, it could raise questions regarding political loyalty and transparency within the constituency.
An APC ward leader in Warri North, who also spoke anonymously, said aspirants seeking election under a political party are generally expected to maintain exclusive allegiance to that platform.
According to the party official, any evidence of conflicting political affiliation could create internal disputes and possibly attract legal challenges.
“Political parties usually expect total commitment from aspirants seeking their tickets. If there is evidence showing dual membership, it may become an issue within the party and could even result in legal complications,” the APC ward leader stated.
The party official added that the matter reflects wider concerns among some APC members regarding political alignments and alliances ahead of the next election cycle.
The source described the Warri Federal Constituency as politically strategic to the APC in Delta State and stressed the need for clarity over the allegations.
“For the APC, Warri Federal Constituency remains very important politically. Many stakeholders believe that issues concerning party loyalty and commitment should be openly addressed to avoid confusion within the party,” the source added.
The allegations have since sparked discussions among members of both the APC and the NDC within the constituency, with supporters of the different parties debating the authenticity and implications of the reported membership card.
Political observers say the controversy could affect ongoing consultations and alignments ahead of the APC primary election if the issue continues to gain attention within the constituency.
As of the time this report was filed, Ereyitomi had not publicly responded to the allegations.
Calls and text messages reportedly sent to the lawmaker seeking comments on the matter were not answered.
