Member representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, has denied claims linking him to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), describing a purported membership card bearing his photograph and details as fake.
In a statement issued from his office, Ereyitomi said the card currently circulating online was a criminal forgery created by political opponents to damage his reputation and create confusion within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He stated that he had never applied for membership in the NDC and had no relationship or communication with officials of the political group. According to him, he has remained a loyal member of the APC and has already been screened and cleared under the party for forthcoming elections.
“I remain 100 percent a loyal and bona fide member of the APC,” he said, insisting that the circulating card was part of a calculated attempt to push a false anti-party narrative against him.
The lawmaker accused unnamed detractors of trying to distract the people of Warri Federal Constituency from what he described as the legislative progress achieved during his representation.
Ereyitomi also disclosed that security and investigative agencies had been alerted over the alleged forgery. He said efforts were ongoing to identify and prosecute those responsible for creating and distributing the card.
He urged supporters, APC members, and constituents to disregard the alleged NDC membership card, describing it as political propaganda aimed at misleading the public.
“Do not be deceived by the antics of those who prefer lies over the noble path of democracy,” he stated.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and to the people of Warri Federal Constituency, while thanking his supporters for their continued confidence in his leadership.
