There was tight security presence in Kaduna as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) arraigned former governor Nasir El-Rufai over alleged corruption-related offences.
Security operatives, including the police, DSS, NSCDC, and mobile police, were deployed around the Federal High Court, with movements restricted and major roads leading to the venue heavily controlled.
El-Rufai was arraigned alongside a co-defendant over charges bordering on fraud, money laundering, and alleged abuse of office, with separate cases also filed in both federal and state courts.
The development caused traffic disruptions and heightened tension in parts of Kaduna as proceedings commenced.
