Yenagoa, Bayelsa – The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for Southern Ijaw Constituency III in the forthcoming Bayelsa State House of Assembly election, Hon. Ayebamiebi Godwill Ziriki, has appealed to party supporters, stakeholders, and residents of the constituency to remain peaceful and law-abiding following the recent judgment delivered by the Federal High Court in Lokoja concerning the party.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, Ziriki described the court’s decision as unfortunate and disappointing, but urged members of the NDC not to lose hope or allow the ruling to create fear, panic, or division within the party.

According to him, democracy thrives on the rule of law, stressing that all legal processes should be respected and allowed to run their constitutional course.

He encouraged supporters to remain steadfast and focused, noting that political and legal challenges are common features of democratic governance and should not weaken their resolve.

> “Political challenges are part of every democratic process. We must remain united, patient, and confident that justice will ultimately prevail,” he said.

The NDC standard-bearer also cautioned supporters against making inflammatory statements or engaging in violence, emphasizing the need to preserve peace across Southern Ijaw Constituency III and Bayelsa State.

Ziriki reaffirmed his commitment to providing quality representation and protecting the mandate and interests of the people through lawful and constitutional means.

He thanked party faithful, stakeholders, and constituents for their continued support, prayers, and confidence in his leadership, expressing optimism that the current legal challenges would be resolved in accordance with the law.

The statement concluded with an appeal for members of the NDC and the people of Southern Ijaw Constituency III to remain united, hopeful, and committed to democratic ideals while awaiting further legal and political developments.
