A youth-focused political and development support group under the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Youth & Women Network, has announced plans to convene a national campus dialogue in Abuja aimed at engaging students on governance, civic participation, and student welfare.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Maitama, Abuja, and is expected to bring together student leaders, policymakers, government agencies, and development partners from across the country.

According to the group, the programme will also feature the launch of a student welfare intervention known as the Campus Food Bank Initiative (CFBI), designed to provide support for indigent students across tertiary institutions.

Campus Dialogue Focus

The engagement, titled Renewed Hope Campus Dialogue: Empowering Students for National Development, is themed “Raising Leaders Today: Students at the Heart of Nigeria’s Future and the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors Youth & Women Network said the dialogue is designed to deepen awareness of government policies and reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, particularly in the areas of education, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and civic responsibility.

It added that the forum will serve as a platform for structured engagement between students and stakeholders on national development issues, with emphasis on youth inclusion in governance and decision-making.

The programme will feature policy presentations, panel discussions, leadership and mentorship sessions, as well as goodwill messages from invited stakeholders.

PVC Sensitisation Campaign

A key aspect of the initiative is a nationwide sensitisation campaign encouraging eligible students to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the electoral process.

The group said the campaign is aimed at strengthening civic awareness among young Nigerians and promoting informed participation in democratic governance.

It noted that the initiative would be extended beyond the Abuja summit through campus-based mobilisation in collaboration with student organisations and youth-focused partners.

Campus Food Bank Initiative

A major highlight of the summit will be the official launch of the Campus Food Bank Initiative (CFBI), a welfare programme targeted at supporting students facing economic hardship.

According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to provide food assistance and essential welfare materials to indigent students in tertiary institutions.

The group stated that the intervention aligns with broader social development objectives under the Renewed Hope Agenda, with the aim of reducing economic pressure on students and improving learning conditions.

It added that the programme is expected to establish a structured campus-based support system that promotes student wellbeing and reduces hunger-related disruptions to education.

Expected Outcomes

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors Youth & Women Network outlined several expected benefits of the initiative, including improved student welfare, reduced financial burden on vulnerable students, and enhanced academic stability.

It also said the programme would promote youth participation in national development discussions and increase awareness of government interventions in the education sector.

In addition, it is expected to strengthen collaboration between student bodies, development organisations, and government institutions in addressing welfare challenges in tertiary education.

Stakeholder Participation

The group called for collaboration and support from relevant stakeholders across government, civil society, and the private sector.

Invited participants include political support structures within the APC, youth organisations such as the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), and student bodies including the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

Government agencies expected to participate include the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Federal Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and the National Orientation Agency (NOA).

Development partners, corporate organisations, and civil society groups focused on youth and education development have also been encouraged to support the initiative.

Commitment to Youth Development

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors Youth & Women Network said the summit reflects its broader commitment to youth empowerment, leadership development, and national progress through structured engagement platforms.

It reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening dialogue between young Nigerians and policymakers while promoting civic responsibility and awareness of national development programmes.

The statement was signed by Hon. Adewumi Adetolaju, National Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Youth & Women Network.
